Hi everyone!
My name’s Nephenee, and for part of 2017 and 2018, this was my game design blog site. As of now, this is no longer the case and this site remains on hiatus as life has taken me elsewhere and I managed to obtain a job that is now my primary priority.
For further clarification, I am currently employed in the game industry, at Blizzard Entertainment. In the interest of transparency, I want to make it clear that all opinions stated in this site are my own and do not represent my company, as all content here existed prior to my employment. Feel free to enjoy reading the posts in this site, but keep in mind they represent my personal views only.
The original message from this About section can be found below for my own personal interest, and for those who wish to know more about me.
Thank you!

——————————————————————————
Hello, my name’s Nephenee, though I normally go by Nephy for short. I’ve been playing games since I was around the age of four, pretty much for as long as I can remember. Since then, I have always wanted to be great at them, and as a kid I recall being highly devoted to the idea of learning how to make games and play them as a career.
Fast-forward to the present, I’ve studied to become a game designer and am working independently on learning game development and on making my own games. Before all this I spent years as a high school teacher, where my passion for learning was put forth, and prior to that I studied for a bachelor of arts in Psychology and Hispanic Studies. As a whole, I tend to approach life like this, absorbing information and learning from as many disciplines as possible in my pursuit of fun and learning for the sake of fun.
It’s from that angle that I approach games in this blog and elsewhere: for their capacity to be great learning moments for all ages, and for their ability to foster a positive sense of capability and strength in players who grow to overcome them. It is through this lens that I will be most likely to analyze and look at both games and the game industry. Over time, I also intend to start developing and designing my own projects under the Gaming Whim umbrella, at which point I’ll be cataloging those here.
If this is appealing to you, I hope you can stick around and offer any feedback you might have! If not, then I nevertheless hope you stick around and have fun.
Thank you for visiting!
